Power Rankings: Week 4

If Week 3 taught us anything, it’s that parity in the NFL has officially devolved into beautiful, unadulterated chaos. Half of the teams entering the weekend as underdogs walked away with outright victories, shredding point spreads and fantasy lineups alike. From international nail-biters to baffling statistical anomalies, the league completely threw out the script.

Case in point: the Buffalo Bills managed to pull off a win against the Chargers despite a staggering minus-four turnover differential—a feat so bizarre it hadn't happened since the late nineties. Meanwhile, the action spilled internationally all the way to Rio de Janeiro, where the Ravens and Cowboys treated neutral fans to an instant-classic thriller capped off by a game-winning, 56-yard walk-off field goal.

If you thought favorites were safe elsewhere, you were sorely mistaken. The Commanders pulled off the shocker of the young season by stunning the Seahawks, and chaotic divisional bloodbaths saw underdogs like the Steelers, Browns, and Colts all punch above their weight. As we barrel toward Week 4, pretenders are getting exposed, contenders are sweating bullets, and nobody's Sunday afternoon is safe.

⚡ Power Rankings
32 Teams Ranked
#1

Buffalo Bills

Steady
They managed to beat the Chargers despite committing enough turnovers to start a bakery. Josh Allen is playing superhero chess while the rest of the roster tries to eat the pieces.
#2

Kansas City Chiefs

▲ 1
Took care of Miami without breaking a sweat, because the football gods refuse to let Patrick Mahomes have a down year. They are inevitable, boringly excellent, and deeply annoying.
#3

San Francisco 49ers

▲ 1
The offense is humming at peak efficiency, but allowing 30 points to Arizona exposes lingering depth concerns in the secondary and defensive front that could spell trouble against high-volume passing attacks.
#4

Seattle Seahawks

▼ 2
The defensive scheme unraveled significantly against Washington, highlighting a vulnerability in containing mobile quarterbacks and high-tempo play-action schemes that must be addressed immediately.
#5

Baltimore Ravens

▲ 3
Escaped Rio with a walk-off 56-yard field goal to beat Dallas. Lamar Jackson woke up just in time in the second half to remind everyone why playing them is a nightmare.
#6

Los Angeles Rams

Steady
A 1-2 start magnifies their margin for error in a brutal NFC West; Stafford is carrying an immense load, but defensive inconsistencies are routinely squandering strong offensive performances.
#7

Minnesota Vikings

▲ 2
Quietly pushed to 3-0 by taking down Tampa Bay, operating under the radar like a boring tax audit. Nobody believes they're elite yet, which means they'll probably break everyone's hearts in January.
#8

Denver Broncos

▲ 2
Handled the Rams to keep climbing, proving that Sean Payton’s ego is somehow matching the altitude. Mile High magic is back, or the rest of the AFC West is just politely stepping aside.
#9

Jacksonville Jaguars

▲ 5
Obliterated the Patriots 35-6 in a game so one-sided it should have been broadcast on the History Channel as an ancient execution. Suddenly Jacksonville looks competent, which is deeply unsettling for everyone involved.
#10

New England Patriots

▼ 5
The roster lacks the top-end athleticism required to match up against dynamic offenses, leading to cascading failures in both execution and depth when things go sideways. If they don't watch out, this could be the start of a fast slide.
#11

Chicago Bears

▲ 1
Their dismantling of Philadelphia was a masterclass in complementary football, with the defense dictating the line of scrimmage and completely suffocating the opponent's rhythm on national television.
#12

Cincinnati Bengals

▼ 5
Choked away a tight one to Pittsburgh because Joe Burrow got strip-sacked when it mattered most. Turns out having a flashy offense doesn't help when your offensive line turns into wet tissue paper.
#13

Philadelphia Eagles

▼ 2
Got completely dragged by the Bears on Monday night, looking like they forgot how to block, tackle, or play football. Nick Sirianni’s visor-adjusting intensity couldn't save them from getting embarrassed on national TV.
#14

Dallas Cowboys

▲ 1
Traveled all the way to Brazil just to blow it on a 56-yard walk-off field goal against Baltimore. "This is our year" has officially been downgraded to "Please just let us win a close game."
#15

Green Bay Packers

▼ 2
A sluggish, flat start on a short week exposed glaring communication issues across both units, raising questions about early-game preparation and adjustments. I'm watching closely; this could the the start of a slide.
#16

Arizona Cardinals

▲ 3
Put up 30 points against San Francisco and still lost, which is the ultimate Arizona Cardinals experience. Being stuck in the NFC West is a human rights violation for this roster.
#17

Pittsburgh Steelers

▲ 5
I'm very confused by this team. I thought they would get blown out by the Bengals, but I guess this is the NFL. If they can keep winning I'll keep moving them up the charts, but I have a feeling they will end up 8-9 this season.
#18

New York Giants

▼ 2
Scraped past the Titans 12-7 in a game that felt like a punishment for watching football. If you like punts, three-and-outs, and offensive despair, MetLife Stadium was the place to be.
#19

Detroit Lions

▲ 1
Wow, you beat the Jets. This accomplishment does not get you anywhere. Please look good against a top team and we can start talking.
#20

Washington Commanders

▲ 1
Out-gunned Seattle in a wild 33-31 thriller thanks to a massive pick-six. For one afternoon, the defense actually showed up, which probably shocked even them.
#21

Houston Texans

▼ 4
Dropped another close heartbreaker to the Colts and fell into the winless basement. They are the official kings of "playing hard and losing anyway."
#22

Las Vegas Raiders

▲ 4
Shockingly undefeated after taking down the Saints, and nobody has any idea how or why this happened. Enjoy the mirage while it lasts, Raider Nation, because gravity is waiting.
#23

New Orleans Saints

Steady
The Saints are sitting at 1-2, but have had a chance to win each game they were in. You have to win to move up the charts, but I like what they are building in New Orleans.
#24

Indianapolis Colts

Steady
Barely scraped by Houston by a measly two points. Winning ugly counts in the standings, but it doesn't make watching them any less of a chore.
#25

Cleveland Browns

▲ 4
Stumbled into a win over Carolina thanks to a late pick. Their offense is a car crash, but hey, a win is a win when you're winging it.
#26

Carolina Panthers

▼ 1
Bryce Young threw a late interception to choke away a winable game against Cleveland. Watching this franchise trying to turn a corner is like watching someone try to push a boulder uphill.
#27

Atlanta Falcons

▲ 3
Thumped Green Bay 35-14 on Thursday night and instantly tricked everyone into thinking they're good. Don't worry, they'll find a creative way to ruin your weekend next week.
#28

Los Angeles Chargers

▼ 10
Stayed winless after losing to Buffalo, cementing their status as the league's premier heartbreakers. Justin Herbert is going to need a chiropractor and a therapist by October.
#29

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

▼ 2
Fell flat against Minnesota to sink to 0-3, turning the NFC South race into a comedy of errors. Baker Mayfield is fighting for his life behind an offensive line made of Swiss cheese.
#30

New York Jets

▼ 2
Blew it against Detroit after fighting back to tie, proving that hope is the most dangerous emotion in New Jersey. Another week, another example in snatching defeat from the jaws of respectability.
#31

Tennessee Titans

Steady
Managed only 7 points in a disgusting loss to the Giants. Watching this offense move the ball is a profoundly effective cure for insomnia.
#32

Miami Dolphins

Steady
Got manhandled by Kansas City while losing De'Von Achane to injury. The speed merchant offense has officially run out of gas, GPS, and answers.
