Power Rankings: Week 3

There was not a lot of shake-up at the top of the Rankings this week. The Chiefs keep climbing, but most of the top teams stayed about the same. I had to move the Bills to the top because they looked dominant while the Seahawks were less so.

Ja'Marr Chase had an amazing catch for the Bengals, but the real story is their defense actually stopping teams this season. Imagine, the Joe Burrow led, Bengals with a good defense! I think they could be making some noise if this holds up. They are creeping up the rankings here.

Down towards the bottom we are seeing more movement. The NFC South's Bucs and Falcons saw a big slide. I think they could both turn things around but right now they are pretty disappointing. I wonder if Baker is regretting turning down the 2-year $100 million deal? I have a rule in life. If someone wants to give me $100 million, I take it. Especially if I can get paid again in two seasons. Somehow this was offensive to him. What a world these NFL players must live in.

Check out the rankings. They are hot of the press!!

32 Teams Ranked
#1

Buffalo Bills

▲ 1
The Bills offense keeps rolling. Allen looks amazing and he is getting early MVP talks, but could the real hero here be the O-line? They are blocking like mad men providing time for Allen and opening up gaping holes for Cook.
#2

Seattle Seahawks

▼ 1
The Seahawks got off to a slow start tied 7-7 at halftime. They turned it on in the second half, but this is 2 out of 2 weeks they have started slowly. Their defense looks great, but if not for Smith-Njigba the offense leaves something to be desired.
#3

Kansas City Chiefs

▲ 4
Well, I was wrong about the Chiefs. I had them in the middle of the pack to start the season, but they look to be a top contender again. Does anyone else find this annoying?
#4

San Francisco 49ers

▼ 1
La-di-da, they smoked Miami, but I didn't really learn anything from this game. Miami's team is so devoid of talent that a 35-13 victory does not move the needle. I'm not sure how much we will learn next week against AZ, but the road toughens up after that.
#5

New England Patriots

▲ 1
The Pats rolled Pittsburgh last weekend only allowing 3 points in New England's first win of the season. Their defense looks amazing, but Maye might have taken a step back from his breakout season last year. If he can get his play back to where he was look out league!
#6

Los Angeles Rams

▲ 2
Bounce back win for the Rams. However, they beat up on a NY team that lost their QB in the first few plays. I think this game would have been a lot more competitive if not for that. The next 3 games go Broncos, Eagles, Bills, so this will be the true test of where the so called "Super Team" stands.
#7

Cincinnati Bengals

▲ 2
Can the Bengals really play defense? If so, I'm not sure what world I live in!! Holding any team to 6 is impressive, however the Texans were without their superstar WR. I'll be watching closely to see if the defense continues to hold up.
#8

Baltimore Ravens

▼ 4
Seriously?!?! You lost to the Saints!!! I still very much believe in this team. This was just one of those stinkers that the Ravens let get away. You're going to slide with a loss like that, but I can't put them down too far.
#9

Minnesota Vikings

▲ 9
The Vikings are impressing me. I did not think much of them coming into the season. I thought they would probably finish last in their division. Now that they are 2-0 against NFL North teams they are in the drivers seat. Their defense is legit and putting teams on notice
#10

Denver Broncos

▲ 3
Good bounce back Denver. You has me scared there for a minute. Last week might have been just one of those week 1 stinkers. I'm expecting the Broncos to start to climb their way back up the rankings here.
#11

Philadelphia Eagles

Steady
The Eagles are looking pretty meh right now. I had them in my survivor pool and they made me sweat way too hard. I thought I was cooked there for a good few minutes. If it was not for other teams sliding I would be moving them down.
#12

Chicago Bears

▼ 7
The Bears looked like the best offense since the Greatest Show on Turf in week 1. Then came the rain and the Vikings D. 3 points!!! Wow, that is pathetic. On top of that your QB goes down and is week to week. I have trouble believing that Tyson Bagent is going to hold the fort for the next few weeks. The Bears can only hope Williams come back soon.
#13

Green Bay Packers

▼ 3
Packers could very well be staring at 0-2, but an unlikely comeback vs the Jets saved their early season. I'm not sure if we should be giving the Jets more credit or that the Packers are really not that good. They need Parsons back, like, yesterday.
#14

Jacksonville Jaguars

▼ 2
Just when the Jags start to look amazing they totally throw up a stinker. This seems to be the theme of Jacksonville football for the last forever. I want to believe, but I just can't do it.
#15

Dallas Cowboys

▲ 2
The Cowboys beat the Commanders without the Washington's starting QB. Yes, you should win that game. The Boys are going to need to have some better looking victories to climb back where they started in the rankings.
#16

New York Giants

▼ 2
After week one I was thinking about getting on the Giants bandwagon. Then they lost their QB for the season. Too bad, I would have loved to see what Dart and the G-Men could do this year. Jamies did not look good when he came in. Well, there's always next year!
#17

Houston Texans

▼ 2
The Texans offense is looking pretty bad. I know they didn't have Collins, but wow, there was nothing going on there. I was so high on Stroud after his rookie season, but he does not look like a player who can elevate a team.
#18

Los Angeles Chargers

▼ 2
I think the Chargers are only this high because I had them starting so high. I don't like to move teams too fast, but this is a team that I think will keep sliding. Their next 7 games are brutal and they could quite possibly lose them all. Yikes!
#19

Arizona Cardinals

▲ 5
The Cardinals did not win, but they showed up. At least for the first half. I had this team at the bottom of the ranking week 1 and they are proving me wrong. They have a tough test against the Niners this week, but I have a feeling after that they might be climbing the rankings here.
#20

Detroit Lions

Steady
It was a blowout early in Buffalo last week. The final score was not reflective of how close the game really was. The Lions defense looks god-awful. Their next 3 games against the Jets, Panthers, and Cardinals are all winnable. If they can't pull those games out it;s time to close the books on the Lions season.
#21

Washington Commanders

▼ 2
I was not very inspired by this team and I'm even less so now that their QB is injured. Let's just move on here.
#22

Pittsburgh Steelers

▼ 1
Are we surprised that a Pittsburgh offense does not look good with an over-the-hill Aaron Rodgers at the helm? No, we are not... I do not really understand what Pittsburg's mindset is. They didn't look great with Rodgers last season, so let's just do this again??? It's like they are just okay with being okay.
#23

New Orleans Saints

▲ 3
I'm excited by the Saints. I'm not sure they have all the pieces, but they are trending in the right direction. My guess is that they will continue to move up the rankings.
#24

Indianapolis Colts

▲ 1
Oh man I was rooting for the Colts. It would have been so fun to see them knock off the Chiefs. Alas, they couldn't do it. Now they sit at 0-2 and I'm guessing they will be hovering around the 20s in the rankings all season.
#25

Carolina Panthers

▲ 2
While it might not be a statement to the whole NFL, it might be a statement to the NFC South. The Panthers are here for another NFC South title. It might be another 8-9 season, but they can hang their banner.
#26

Las Vegas Raiders

▲ 2
Coming into the season I didn't have the Raiders in the same category as the Chargers. It looks like the Raiders are a little better than I thought and the Chargers are waaaaay worse. Next week's matchup against the Saints will be big for both teams. It will be a statement for who is moving up and who is just another speed bump for the good teams on their way to the playoffs.
#27

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

▼ 5
For some reason Tampa Bay was the most trendy pick for survivor pools last week. I saw this and happily stayed away. I know they were playing the Browns, but what gives you confidence this team can go out and win on a given week. I feel like the Bucs are a team that could win any week or lose. We just proved the loss part last week.
#28

New York Jets

▲ 1
Jets, if you beat GB I would have had to give you some respect and move you up a bunch here. But you didn't... Terrible clock management lets Green Bay back into it last week. Turns out you're still the Jets.
#29

Cleveland Browns

▲ 1
Yeah Browns!! You still have no solution at QB and you still stink, but you got a win. I'm proud of you. Keep up the good work and you might just miss out on this year's QB class.
#30

Atlanta Falcons

▼ 7
Lets not talk about the last 2 week. They were bad. Penix is coming back and I will be very interested in the direction of this team when Cooper Rush is not the QB. In the next 2 games they play Green Bay and New Orleans. If they can win these games and right the ship with Penix looking good I can start to believe again. If not, it's back to tank mode.
#31

Tennessee Titans

▲ 1
Wow! "A" for effort here. I thought you had that game won, but the all-to-predictable "you left too much time on the clock" sprung up and bit them. Effort does not shoot you up these power rankings.
#32

Miami Dolphins

▼ 1
The Dolphins are one of the worst teams we have seen in a while. Will it be the first 0-17 season? Stay tuned everyone!
